Since 2017 'The Fight For Firefighters Foundation' aims to help first responders, their families, or those in their communities. We are often noted for building wheel chair ramps throughout all reaches of New York State. The foundation is interactive and views its followers and supporters as members who understand the importance of helping one another as a way of life.

Founded by FDNY firefighters from Canarsie's Bravest Engine 257 Ladder 170 Battalion 58, the passion and drive has grown exponentially year after year and even more since the line of duty passings of Canarsie's Steven Pollard in 2019 and foundation board member Timothy Klein only a few years later.

Steven was a young, eager firefighter; the model young firefighter any firehouse would be lucky to have.

Timmy Klein never missed a project and was a founding member of the board. He was quoted saying "If you're on the fence, show up." These words echo in our commitment to the work.
